Devil in the Detail vid, Stop Motion with Photos

So this was not shot with any video cameras, just 15,000 photos from a Canon EOS 400D DSLR, and Final Cut Pro. The effect is very nice, the actions are softened, not jarring, and excellent spooky effect.  Good actor used too:

Souljacker says in the comments: "...most shots where the camera pans with the character we shot bursts of about 60-90 quick consecutive frames at about 3fps... we also got him to alter his movement slightly which I think helped create the strange feel, as for the gear I used my own camera 350d for some tests then borrowed a friends 400d for the main shoot... I don't think that it would put too much strain on the camera ... at least I hope it didn't anyway :)"

TEMPUS II by Philip Heron, high speed slo mo--

--Destruction, thanks petapixal!  Lots of gorgeous Movements, plus a karate chop to brick that's both cringe-worthy and mesmerizing.  Among other *crazy* impact things.  Watch, and be hypnotized!!  The camera used was a Photron SA1.1.

....And the Midnite Theatre missed the June run of matinees

....sorry about that Kids, I know I didn't put together a midnite Show for June, and July is just *rapidly* flying by.  I'll see about putting something together before month's end, but just in case I forget again, apologies!!

And the B-movie standard has been taking a back seat to all my artsy fartsy discoveries.  No wonder there are crickets in the Theatre. ;)  But seriously, here's another one.  The instrument is called the 'Air Piano'. (info courtesy of Gizmag)  Created by Omer Yosha.  Basically, it's a Magical Keyboard.  oooo ahhh.  This vid is of the artist Jo Hamilton demonstrating the magic:

BIG Bang Big Boom, a stop motion by BLU

This is absolutely, mind-staggering.  It's 9 minutes, but just watch, from beginning of the universe to it's potential end.  And if you're wondering why the sequence of 'mankind' is so short, well, in the relative timeline of the universe, we *are* just the blink of an eye.  Amazing work.  And a further thought:  to think this was mostly done outside, having to deal with nature's lighting conditions and weather.  Wow.

"Jing Hua" by Jifei Ou, an Interactive Computer Installation

"Jing Hua means flowers in the mirror in Chinese. It also represents the metaphor of unreachable things. Maths as the language of nature becomes the language of the artificial."

Enjoy.:
